5 winter supplements you won’t want to do without

Updated: Dec 5, 2023

For most of North America, winter means less sunlight, dryer skin, an increase in seasonal illnesses, and less access to fresh produce (which means fewer of those all-important vitamins). Supplements are good to take any time of year, but they’re especially helpful during the winter.

Here are a few supplements to consider adding to your regimen this winter to help make the season better.

Bone Fortify

No winter supplements list would be complete without vitamin D. With less sunlight to go around, vitamin D is in short supply during the winter, which can affect bone health, various functions in the body, and even mood. We can get some vitamin D from dairy products and fortified cereal, but to make up for the lack of sunlight, it’s best to take a supplement to fill in the gaps.

With its unique blend of calcium, vitamin D, vitamin K, and magnesium, Bone Fortify is a powdered drink mix specially formulated to support the body’s natural processes responsible for overall bone health. Plus, it tastes amazing, so taking it each day will feel like a treat.

Winter can be hard on your skin, even if you have a skincare regimen you stick to religiously. Something that can really help is to hydrate your skin from within with hyaluronic acid, a common ingredient found in many skincare products, including Unicity’s Oasis.

Oasis is a refreshing, berry-flavored drink that is formulated with marine collagen, potent antioxidants, and, of course, hyaluronic acid. It’s designed to hydrate thirsty skin and help it protect us from whatever environment we live in, all from the inside out. Oasis not only helps combat winter dryness, but helps to maintain skin health, too.

Winter means spending more time trapped indoors, so it’s essential for the immune system to be at its best during this time of year.

Immunizen contains a proprietary blend of ingredients—including bovine colostrum, protein compounds, and enzymes—that supports the body’s natural immune functions. It also provides the body with beneficial antioxidants and promotes friendly intestinal bacteria. With its premium blend of ingredients, Immunizen provides fuel to support the body’s ultimate defender—the immune system—when it needs the extra support most.

Vitamin C is a must-have all year round, but it’s especially important during the colder months. As a powerful antioxidant, it works to combat free radicals and supports immune health. A popular winter fruit, oranges, contains a good amount of vitamin C, but it may not be enough, or the right kind of vitamin C, to give you the support you need all winter.

Bio-C is a powerful vitamin C complex that combines concentrated antioxidants with citrus bioflavonoids, which promote prolonged vitamin C absorption in the body. It contains three different forms of vitamin C: ascorbic acid, calcium ascorbate, and acerola. These three vitamin C forms work together to support many bodily functions, including eye, skin, heart, and immune functions.

Super Green +

A variety of fruits and vegetables is the best way to get our daily vitamins, but fresh produce can be hard to find during the colder months.

Super Green + is a drink mix with a blend of high-quality plant phytonutrients and niacin designed to support multiple systems of the body—and help make up for the lack of vegetables in your diet. Formulated with sodium copper chlorophyllin and spirulina, Super Green + uses these plant phytonutrients to provide high-quality antioxidants to support immune system health and digestive system functionality. The niacin component can help maintain energy production throughout the body, too.

Super Green + has a pleasantly subtle flavor, so it can be added to just about any drink to help you stay hydrated all winter long.

Bonus: Unimate

While not a supplement, Unimate is an excellent addition to any winter regimen. You may find that you have less motivation and energy around this time of year, so try starting your day with Unimate. Yerba mate, the key ingredient in Unimate, has been consumed for hundreds of years due to its ability to support mental stamina, focus, and motivation. It has evolved to be naturally rich in antioxidants and contains naturally occurring caffeine, as well as up to 10 times the amount of chlorogenic acid (the stuff that makes you feel good) found in a premium cup of coffee.

In short, Unimate helps you have more of the good days—even during the winter.
