“The key is not to prioritize your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.” ~Stephen Covey
One of the strategies that cause many people to underperform in life is time management. People who focus on managing time generally end up being very ineffective. Why? Because time is not the key variable in creating massive success. What you DO with your time IS the key variable.
The 80/20 rule, also known as the Pareto Principle, states that 80% of what we want comes from just 20% of what we do. Of course the inverse is also true: only 20% of what we want comes from 80% of what we do.
If we are very disciplined in our management of time but we use our time on the 80% of actions that only give us 20% of what we want, then we will be very disappointed in our overall results.
The smart way to manage time is to discover what the 20% actions are that give us 80% of what we want and use our time to double up or even triple the key 20% actions each day. That way we can double or triple our productive results.
Think about how much more powerful and productive your life would be if you did the key 20% actions, but instead of doing them only once a day, you instead did them two or even three times a day. Your productive results would more than double and probably triple. What would that mean for your income? What would it mean for your quality of life?
Why not try it? You will still use the same amount of time, you will just be massively more productive.
